Memorial Day by Inanna

To All the Veterans I want to send my love and appreciation. Memorial day is a very controversial day for me.  It is controversial because I believe in love and life, peace and preservation; creation and the beauty of nature.  As Inanna I am no stranger to destruction and war but there has to be a balance. War is a dangerous subject to cover for me.  As a woman, mother protector, nurturer, creator I frown upon frivolous destruction and killing. The war that the governments engage in puts people and their families at risk.  The army was supposed to protect the US soil and those who occupy it. That is the way of Inanna. For the reasons of power and control destruction has been the purpose of invasion on other lands making them slaves to the will of the elite.  The soldiers become soldiers in their mind to protect the land and their loved ones. Some later find this establishment is the same corrupt force that can and will be the demise of the very thing they want to protect.  Some leave and some stay knowing the dangers involved.

Now I’m not really here to discuss the issues with war but I have to discuss it slightly so that I can shed light on the greatness of these warriors.  There is sacrifice and then there is sacrifice.  These men and women had to and still have to work in the most inhumane conditions possible.  They are being tested on as guinea pigs, have become casualties of war, kidnapped to be ignored and not rescued by the very government that sent them abroad.  I do not want to only speak of the negative aspects of the military but to shed light on the sacrifices they take for the civilians on this and sometimes other soil is beyond commendable or even heroic.  The patience the love and compassion these people have in their hearts to make a change hopefully in the world for the better is almost godly. Now I can almost guarantee that just about every American would rise up in the case of invasion to protect themselves and their loved ones, but this is the job of the military every day.

I have heard the war stories, watched the movies, read biographies, and the news from time to time. Taking a very kind, protective and compassionate soul and order them to kill is a mind-altering situation.  The system of the military has taken innocent and loving minds and has altered them into killing machines. Of course in war you have to kill or be killed, that makes sense.  When these people come home they are left with guilt of killing families, women and children. They had to kill towns just to destroy one or two people for the sake of our way of life.  This holiday has a bittersweet taste in my mouth. Like I mentioned before I do not like war. My precious plants, animals, water, air, and life in general are at stake every time there is a war fought.  These Veterans come home with Shell Shock or what is called now PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and put on medicine and then forgotten. Some do not come back to their families and some come home to little or no jobs.  They leave their loved ones behind for months at a time. They leave their lives behind and put it on hold making their climb to success a much harder struggle than the average person.

Well I want to have a moment in silence of our fallen heroes……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

I would like to make one last point.  There are those who have returned injured, retired, on leave, on break, or whatever status or rank you hold in this military and I want to say a very deep and heartfelt thank you and send my love to you all.  With that said I would like to propose an idea. I think veterans know we appreciate and love them but I think they don’t feel it strong enough from us.  I propose that those of us who can this year and who cannot this year plan on it next year to have a community cook out in every neighborhood for the soldiers of the past and present.  The ones to focus on more than anything should be the homeless and jobless veterans who have lost hope.  I would like for us to lend out a helping loving and non-judging hand to see how much we can help and change their lives for the better. We know they would for us. I mean I think they have already proved it by serving as military personnel. We can start with a smile, some, food, and a hug. Get to know some of them. Listen to their war stories and if necessary be that counselor they may need. Love is a very powerful thing and I say pass it forward and show it with your heart and everything you do.

If anyone would like to comment about a veteran that has touched their life or a story about the good and/or bad experience you have had in the military, then you are welcome to comment. There is definitely love on this page for all.  Take care and love All.
